Warming up:

Ask students to make something DIY by themselves and show the works on the video.

Students sing the song together and enjoy the video.

StepI: DIY is around us

Show some pictures of different DIY works.( DIY house/ stones/food/ rubbish/ decorations/ flowers)

Learn about different types of DIY tools

1)Ask students “What tools do we need to do DIY works?

2)Show the pictures of different types of DIY tools.

3)Learn about the names of different tools and know about

what they use for.

4)the new words together and PK which group read the most loudly.

Game time : Who will be the king of the new words.

( There will be some pictures quickly show on the screen and the students need to stand up and answer it quickly, the winner will get more points.)

(设计意图:向学生展示生活中随处可见的DIY作品,引起他们的共鸣,随之引入DIY工具的介绍。通过小组PK等形式来进行单词的学习,以及通过游戏形式巩固所学内容,提高他们课堂参与的热情)

Step II: I can do DIY work by myself.

Ask students if they can do a card for their mothers.

Teachers show the pictures of different steps of making a card.

Ask students to write down the steps on the exercise book.

Ask students to show what they wrote in the book.

First, prepare a piece of paper.

Next, draw some pictures on the card.

Then, write something on the card.

Finally, send the card to your mother.

(设计意图:从学生最容易掌握的制作卡片开始,让他们了解如何去进行制作步骤的描述,有助于他们接下来的学习,由浅入深,循序渐进)

Give 3 minutes to students and ask them to describe their own DIY works they do before,

Ask some students to show their descriptions.
