Step1:Warm-up:Get to know different types of books

1.Have a free talk and show the learning aims, then ask the students to read the aims together.

How much time do you spend reading?

2.Show some pictures of the great scientist Stephen?William?Hawking and ask the students to guess what type of book it is.

3.Show some more pictures on the screen and ask some questions.

Q1: Do you know what types of books they are?

T: Now I want to know about your favorite books.

Q2: What is your favorite type of books?

Why do you like this type of books?

Step2:Pre-writing

1.Get to know about your partner’s reading habits.

1) Finish the questionnaire

T: Are you curious about your partner’s reading habits? Now please complete the survey on page 60 with your own information.

2) Share the information with each other

T: Share your information with your partner. After discussion, try to give a report about your partner’s reading habits. You canuse the model on the screen.

2. Get to know about Millie’s reading habits.

T: Do you want to learn about Millie’s reading habits? Millie has written an article about her reading habits. Let’s turn to page 61.

1) Here is Millie’s report on her reading habits. Read paragraph 1 loudly and answer the questions.
