Teaching and learning steps:

Step 1 Revision, warming up and leading in

Revision: Ask some pairs to act out the conversation in Section A, 3b like this:

A: How much is the hat? B: It’s five dollars.

A: How much are the socks? B: They’re three dollars.

Warming up: Get the students to count the numbers from one to ten loudly. And list them down.

Leading in: Let some able students list some new numbers. Then teach the new words with the help of pictures.

Step 2 Listening

Let the students look at the numbers in 1a for 3 minutes. Then close the books and play the tape for students to listen and repeat.

Pair work: Talk about the numbers. (Section B, 1b) and write them down. Then ask a few students to say something about them: Which rows of numbers are in the wrong places?

Step 3 Listening for the general idea

Play the tape for students to listen and circle the numbers they hear in1a.

Listen and repeat.

Step 5 Post-listening activities

Get the students to ask and answer questions about the things in the picture above

A: How much is the blue sweater? B: It’s 15 dollars.

Pair work: Students look at the picture and the model drills. Then practice the drills in pairs.

one到twelve,拼写和读音无规律可言, 只能逐一记忆。
