The?text?is?taken?from?Book?4?Module 4,reading?and?vocabulary?part?and?this?is?the?2nd?teaching
?period?of?this?module.?The?topic?of?this?module?is?Scientists?and?in?the?introduction?part,?the?book
shows?vocabulary?relating?to?the great scientists . Then in the reading and
vocabulary part, it gives a passage about the leading figure in the rice-growing world.It provides much information and background about his work and achievements.
So far my students have achieved certain ability in English comprehension. Before class , the students have learned vocabulary in this period by themselves and have looked up some key words ,so they have no problem in the general understanding of the reading passage . But they lack deep understanding about it.
