As a result of Yuan Long ping’s discoveries ,Chinese rice production rose by 47.5 percent in the 1990’s

Cultural awareness aim:

Help the students to learn how to talk about Yuan Long ping and his achievements

Thinking quality aims:

1Develop the abilities of getting information and the students’ reading skills, e.g. skimming and scanning

1 Develop the students’ sense of cooperation

2 Learn some good spirit from the great scientist

二、教学内容整体分析本单元的中心话题是:“伟大的科学家”(Great Scientists)教材通过讲述多个科学家的个人事迹,增强学生的学习兴趣,激发学生对科学的学习动机,学习科学家的坚持不懈,努力钻研的精神。而所选取的“阅读”(Reading)部分主要讲述了我国科学家袁隆平的生平故事,伟大理想,杂交水稻实验过程,主要贡献及对中西方的深远影响。

三、学情分析Students have previewed the text and have a basic understanding of important words and phrases.

Students have got some reading skills such as finding the main ideas and detailed information.

They are willing to cooperate with teammates and eager to learn something new about scientists.

四、教学策略选择与设计通过ppt图片展示和视频结合任务型教学模式,激发学生的学习主动性和积极性。

问题解决教学模式,让学生自主探索教师和学生自己提出的问题,最终解决问题。

五、教学重点及难点Teaching important points:

1. Enable the students to master the target language.

2. Help the students to read the text by using reading skills.

3. Understand the importance of Yuan Long ping’s achievements.

Teaching difficult points:

1. Enable the students to know and talk about what made Yuan a great scientist.
