This is the last period of this unit, and almost everyone has mastered the key words, phrases and sentence patterns to describe people’s looks and known they should describe people mainly from three aspects. In this period, they will mainly make a review and summary, and then write a composition. They must do a good job.

1. Key points:

Use the relevant adjectives, nouns and expressions to describe people’s looks correctly and freely.

2. Difficult points:

How to write a good composition using what they have learnt.

Teaching Procedures

Lead-in

Describe a student and ask “Who is she?”

?【设计亮点】描述班里一个学生的外貌让学生猜猜她是谁,导入新课,激发学生兴趣,并给学生的学习创造了一个宽松自由的环境。

Lead students to chant and do the actions.

?【设计亮点】通过chant环节,学生能复习已学的单词,把单词意思表演出来,更能巩固所学,并能有效激发学生极大的学习兴趣。

Play a game: One student describes a person and others guess who he/she is.

?【设计亮点】通过“我说,你猜”游戏描述和猜测同班同学,可以检测学生能不能运用所学知识描述人物外貌和听懂关于外貌的描述,并能拉近同学之间的距离,调动学生学习的积极性。

Make a summary about how to describe a person’s look,mainly including height, build, hair and other features.

Students work in group to ask and answer about their family members, and then write a short report.

Students complete the passage in 3a, and then analyze some important sentences and the structures.

Students write a passage about their best friend. First, they should make an outline, then draft. Next, the teacher may show the standards of the assessment and then work with partners to edit the passages of each other and then ask group mates for more advice.

In the end, invite some students whose passage is excellent to read their articles for the whole class. And more students put up their passages on the wall.
