Procedure :

Ⅰ、Words discovering :

Show the students some pictures describing the scenes in an earthquake based on the information from the reading passage in time order,trying to motivate Ss to discover some useful words and expressions.

Encourage the Ss to recall as many words as they can, trying to check if they can memorize those words in the way more easily ;Ss to be encouraged to finish the paraphrase exercise in students book in this part .

Consolidation:

Play a game-- Lucky number :

Give instructions to the rules of the game;the encourage the Ss to play the game to check whether they have grasped those useful words and expressions.

Ⅱ、Practice

Passage correction.

Present a passage in which there are ten mistakes, the Ss will be encouraged to find out and correct them.(This passage is a description of an earthquake.)

Writing task

Based on what we’ve learnt above,especially those useful words and expressions,Ss are encouraged to write an artical about 100 words to describe their own experience in an earthquake (the quake happening in our hometown last year),trying to use as many words and expressions we’ve learnt today as possible .

Ⅲ、Show time

Some students are encouraged to share their experiences with their classmates .

Ⅳ、Homework

Try to memorize the words and expressions learnt today .

2.Write down the artical on their exercise book .
