Teaching procedure:

Step 1. Greeting.

Step 2.Lead-in (3 minutes)

Daily report: Students’ presentation: What do we have for lunch?

Step 3. Vocabulary revision (5 minutes)

energy-giving food

Classify the words 2. body-building food

3. protective food

Step 4. Discussion: (2 minutes)

What will happen if we don’t eat a balanced diet?

The meaning of the saying “We are what we eat.”

Step 5. Competition: Which group is the best? (15 minutes)

The questions are classified into 3 different categories marked by 1 star, 3 stars and 5 stars, which symbolize different degree of difficulty.

Step 6. Speaking: The star of health (13 minutes)

1.Rules:

a. Each group nominates 1-2 student and writes a short introduction to him/her. (work in groups)

b. 1 student presents the report. ( within 1 minute )

c. The nominee should stand in front of the stage.

2. The whole class vote for the star of health.
