Part two: Analysis of students
According to the New Standard Curriculum and the New Syllabus and the artistic appreciation, students in grade one are supposed to learn to be independent and cooperative in learning. Besides they should learn to find out questions, analyze questions and work out questions in English; Meanwhile they are requested to form the habit of thinking in English. After their study in the first term of grade one, they have adapted themselves to the study in senior school well. They are able to solve some problems in English. So in this period, I want to help them to listen independently, discuss together and solve difficult problems by teamwork.
Part three: The analysis of the teaching material
The teaching content is from New Senior English For China Module 3, Unit 2 “Healthy eating”workbook. This is designed to be the sixth period of this unit. The topic of this period is “For or against building a McDonald’s in our hometown.” All the teaching activities will focus on listening, speaking and writing. They will offer students the opportunity to listen individually, to discuss in groups, to give opinions with good reasons, to think critically and to report what they do accurately and logically.
Teaching important and difficult points :
1. Develop students’ listening speaking and writing abilities.
2. Let students learn how to give viewpoints with reasons.
3. Get students to learn to write an argument.
