Step1. Greeting and lead-in

Before class, show them a vedio about Henry Adams in the clothes store.

T: Morning, ladies and gentlemen! Today we're going to learn sth. about a famous person. Before the study, I'd like to invite u to watch an audio about him.

Okay. Please answer my question together. What is the audio talking about? Yeap, Mark Twain. Today we'll learn sth. about him through discussing the following three questions.

1. The greatest humorist of the 19th century in American literature. Also one of the greatest writers in the world.

Mark Twain was born in Florida on November 30th, 1835. He was brought up in Hannibal, Missouri, along the Mississippi River. He is best known for his novels set in his boyhood world on the river, such as The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Twain loved the river so much that even his pen name is about the river. The author’s real name was Samuel Langhorne Clemens.
