Teaching aims
Enable students to master the pronunciation of and the meaning of the new words related to the passage which we will learn in the class.
Enable students to memorize those new words and their using and some useful expressions
Inspire the students’ interest of learning English.

五、Teaching procedure
Step1 Lead in
T：When I was young, I often though of how life began on earth. Have you ever had the similar though?
Ss : Yes/ No
T: However, there are so many legends about how life began in eastern or western .Can you tell me some of them?
Ss : ……
（Purpose: lean in the text and inspire their interest of learning English）
Step 2 Find out new words
T: But do you want to know from the science side ?
Ss: Yes
T: Then today we’ll learn something about it. T o help us understand the article better , we ‘d better find out the new words from page 25 to page 27, and please underline them on the words list, on page97 and 98.
（Purpose: Learn some new words which can help them understand the text better.）
Step3 Learn the new words
There are 25 new words which are bold from page 25 to page 27. In this part ,first, I’ll encourage them try to pronounce by themselves. Then we read them together. At last, give the students some time to try to memorize the new words as many as they can.
Step 4 checking
I’ll design a brainstorm game about the words, checking if they have memorized them.
Step 5 Exercise
In this part, I’ll design some exercise for the students to do . The exercise includes “matching the the the correct words for the explanations、translate the sentences、 the using of the key words”.
