Introduce the cities in Canada mentioned in the reading part.The students should read the reading passage for several times ahead of time. In order to introduce them within the given time and make them easier to understand, they have to understand on their own and make adaption, through which their reading and speaking abilities will be improved. Text Reading

(20 min)1. Read the passage aloud and finish task 1.

2. Work in pairs and answer the questions in task 2.

3. Reading: help the students get the main idea of each paragraph and through this activity they will get another writing line, the appearance of necessary matters for life to develop.

4. Help the students retell route.1. Show the list of new words they have made and challenge one another to read them

2. Scan the text and find the missing information

3. Look for key words of each paragraph and complete the main ideas. The key words are actually another writing line

4. Look for key words and matters that influence the trip according to the two writing lines and retell the development of life. 1. Check the result of their self-study and make sure they are able to read correctly and know the meaning

2. Lead the students to get the writing order of the text.

3. Lead the students to get the main idea of each paragraph and thus find another writing line

4. This activity will not only help the students comb the details of this reading text but also require them to organize their own sentences and express themselves. Writing & Speaking

1. Show the students’ part of the movie

2. List some words and expressions that may be useful for their writing and speaking. Read the last paragraph and watch several scenes from the movie The Day After Tomorrow

Suppose they are guide, brain storm with their group members and then talk about what they would do to their visitors.1.list the sample words and phrases.
