Inversion is a grammar task in Unit4, Book5. But most of the students still have difficulty in doing exercises about Inversion, especially in using it writing tasks. They need a lesson to review the rules of Inversion, and above all, learn to use it in practice.

Step1. Lead-in

Using the traditional story “the Crow and the Fox” (containing many inverted sentences) to lead in.

Enjoy a story:

Once upon a time, there was a forest. In the forest,there stood a big tree. In the tree settled a crow(乌鸦). Under the tree lay a big hole. In the hole lived a fox.

One day, back flew the crow, in whose mouth was a piece of meat. “Miss Crow , your voice is more beautiful than any other bird,” said the fox. “Please sing for me, and I will call you the queen of all the birds.” The crow began to sing . Then, what happened?

To the ground dropped the meat and away went the fox with the meat.
