教学过程     

Step 1 Leading in

Talk with the students using some Attributive Clauses , and show the students that the attributive clauses can be helpful in people’s speaking and writing ,and in the college entrace examination the testing of the attributive clause is a difficult point.

[设计说明] 引起学生对这一知识点在高考中重要性的足够重视。

Step 2 Teaching procedure

高频考点一:考查引导词that与which的用法区别

请看以下几道高考题:

Yesterday she sold her car,____ she bought a month ago.

The thought of going back home was all ____ kept him happy while he was working abroad.

(3)Frank's dream was to have his own shop in that to produce the workings of his own hands.(改错)

(4)The schools themselves admit that not all children will be successful in the jobs in that they are being trained.(改错)

【用法小结】

1.非限制性定语从句通常用which来引导,指代事物或者前面主句,此时不能用that。

2.在限制性定语从句中,that和which都属于引导词中的关系代词,在从句中都可指代事物,并作主语或宾语,一般情况下两者可以互换使用,但有时两者又有其特殊用法。

(1)that的特殊用法

①当先行词为不定代词(如something, everything, nothing, all, any, much, many, some, few, little, none等)时,定语从句的引导词要用that, 而不能用which。

②当先行词被序数词(如the first, the last, the next等)、形容词最高级(如the best, the most, the highest等)或the only, the very, the same等修饰时,定语从句的引导词要用that, 而不能用which。

③当先行词有两个以上且包括人和物时,定语从句的引导词要用that, 而不能用which。
