学生运用一些写作技巧从不同的角度,如历史,位置等描述一个地方。

学生能够利用所学知识,写一封电子邮件向外国朋友Lucy介绍象山著名景点,如石浦古城。

【教学过程】

Step 1: Lead in (3 mins)

You are asked to introduce a place of interest in Xiangshan to foreigners and your reasons.

How will you introduce it?

【设计意图:通过介绍熟悉的家乡景点导入,调动学生积极性,呼应后面内容。】

Step 2: Brief reading (8 mins)

Students are asked to read the email, and then know what hutongs are and get the main idea of each part.

【设计意图:帮助学生从总体上把握文本内容,理清文本大意,形成整个语篇的概括性能力】

Step 3: Detailed reading

Students read Part 2 and get the basic information like its history, location and residents about hutongs in Beijing. With the relevant expressions, Students are asked to do some translations.

Working in pairs, students are encouraged to continue reading from Para 3-5 and find some information about houses and lanes.

Students are asked to find some useful expressions. By using these expressions, Students try to fill in the blanks about the whole text.

After reading the last part, students are asked to discuss why the writer enjoyed “exploring” hutongs.

Step 4: Thinking

Students are asked to think about “Why did Lucy introduce the hutongs to her friends?”

Step 5: Discussion

Students are asked to think if Lucy plans to go sightseeing in Xiangshan, which place will you like to introduce to her? How will you introduce it in detail?

Step 6: Homework

1. Write an email to Lucy and introduce one attraction in Xiangshan to her.
