Step I Warm-up

1.Greetings.

T: Good morning, everyone.

Ss: Good morning, teacher.

2.Check the homework.

Step II Presentation

1.Ask some students some questions and have some of them answer the questions.

T: I want to know how you get to school.

S1: I get to school by bike.

T: How long does it take you to get to school?

S1: It’s about 15 minutes.

T: I want to know how far you live from school?

S2:It’s about 2 kilometers.

T: How long does it take you to get to school?

S2: It’s about 10 minutes.

T: It’s easy for you to go to school. But for the students in one small village in China, it’s difficult.

2Ask students to have a look at the title and picture on screen, then guess what the passage is about.Then lead them to read through the questions below the passage, and think about the questions, and underline any difficult language point.

Next, invite four students to answer the four questions, correct mistakes if any.

1.Explain some language points on the screen.
