◎Teaching procedure

Step1 Lead-in

Play a song about how the students get to school, show a video about how the students get to school to review the different kinds of transportation.

Step2 Pre-reading

Show the picture of the text book, ask students to make a prediction. What is the students’ dream?

Skimming

Skim the passage and answer the question, what’s the students’ dream?

Scan the passage and answer three simple questions.

Tell students how to draw pictures in their own minds to help them memorize the passage.

Intensive reading

Read paragraph by paragraph, according to different paragraphs, raise different questions.

Reading aloud

read the articls aloud.

Step4 Post-reading

Rewriting

Step6 Emotion, attitude and values education

Play a video “The ways of getting to school around the world” present a letter from a student, provide emotion, attitude and values education.
