Ⅲ. 教学过程：
Step1. Lead in:
Watch a video and discuss what they are doing with partners. Review the present continuous tense.
(设计意图: 通过展示学生的一个小视频，引导学生用现在进行时描述视频里同学们正在做的事情，场景贴近生活，又是熟悉的同学，这样更能引起学生的注意力。通过观看视频回答问题并复述，复习了现在进行时，为新的时态的学习做铺垫。)
Step2. Watch a video about the rainstorm, learn the new word “rainstorm”.
（设计意图：通过观看暴风雨的视频，引导学生掌握rainstorm这个单词。）
Step3. The teacher shows the pictures about herself and her family and introduce what they were doing when the rainstorm came.
（设计意图：教师自己先讲述自己及家人在暴风雨来临时正在干什么，先给了学生范例之后再来让学生说自己在暴风雨来临时分别在哪，正在干什么事，最后再过渡到让学生看图来说出图中人物在暴风雨来临时分别在哪，正在干什么事，难度逐步递增，这样的过渡学生易于接受并掌握。）
Step4. Look at the pictures and answer the questions: where were the people when the rainstorm came? (in the library, on the street, in the house, at the bus stop)
（设计意图：通过设问“where were the people when the rainstorm came?”为后面的1a的学习做铺垫。）
Step5. Look at the pictures and answer the questions: what were the people doing at the time of the rainstorm? Then summarize the past progressive tense.
（设计意图：通过展示图画引导学生观察，并尝试用过去进行时进行描述图中的人物在干什么，总结过去进行时的语法结构，为后面的1a,1b的学习做铺垫。）
Step6. Finish 1a then check.
Step7. Listen to the recording and finish 1b, then check. Before listening to the recording, tell the students this is a report, There is a reporter and four people: one girl, one boy, one woman and one man.
（设计意图：因为这段听力涉及的人数较多，教师在听前给学生介绍场景，有助于学生明确听力的目标。）
Step8. Listen again and fill in the blanks.
（设计意图：掌握了过去进行时之后再做这个听力练习进行巩固，检验学生对知识点的掌握情况。）
Step9. Read after the tapescripts.
（设计意图：跟读听力内容，模仿语音语调，体会经历了暴雨的人在接受采访时表达的情感和使用的语气，为后面的小组对话的输出做好语言上的准备。）
Step10. Look at the pictures and make conversations with your partner.
（设计意图：通过观看图片，用不同的人称讲述过去某个时间正在进行的事情，这个环节可以让学生对所学的知识点进行输出，鼓励全班学生展示对话。）
Step11. Summary.
（设计意图：通过完成句子的练习，使学生对所学知识点进行巩固。）
