Step1. In order to lead in the main topic, T can show the picture of the World Trade Center and encourage them to introduce the World Trade Center.Then show Ss a video about the attack on the World Trade Center in 2001.tell them :the world is not peaceful but we are living in a peaceful country how happy we are and tell them we should study hard and try to make our country stronger and stronger.then show them pictures about the earthquake in New Zealand .

T:what can you see in the picture ?

Ss:I can see ..............

T: what happened in New Zealand on Feb 22nd 2011

Ss:I think there was an earthquake in New Zealand on that day

T:yes this is also a very terrible accident in New Zealand ,and it killed nearly two hundred people.

Step2.Show them the words and phrases,explain them to ss ,explain these words and phrases to them using :

Ask them try to find these words and phrases in the passage .

Step3 After learning the words and phrases listen read and answer the questions in groups .
