(三).情感目标:增长学生的知识,提高学生学习英语的兴趣

【教学重点、难点】

1.能用What is it?来向别人询问动物的名称;并能用It’sa...来告诉别人动物的名称;

2.能用Its...is/are...来描述小动物的特征。

【过程与方法】

1.在猜谜的过程中学习4个动物单词:mouse,cat,dog,rabbit并理解并应用句型What is it?来向别人询问动物的名称,用It’s a...来告诉别人动物的名称;在听音猜词、Match and say活动中巩固和应用;

2.通过描述熟悉的动物,学生能用Its...is/are...来描述小动物的特征;在猜谜、编新谜语、做游戏、小组合作交流的活动过程中,学生能够用What is it?来向别人询问动物的名称,It’s a...来告诉别人动物的名称;能用Its...is/are...来描述小动物的特征。

【教学过程】

Step1 Warming up

Sing the song

(Ss Follow the song and do actions. Review the parts of the body: eye, ear, mouth, nose, face.)

Ask and guess

Ask the students to guess “Who am I?”

My ears are long .My eyes are red. My tail is short. Ss guess and T puts on a mask of a rabbit and say “Yes, I’m a rabbit.”21

Today we are going to learn Module 4 Unit 11---Small animals. Let’s read teaching aims. Ss read them.

(设计意图:唱歌和猜一猜是学生喜闻乐见的教学形式,学生边唱边做动作,既充分调动了学生的学习兴趣,也复习身体部位词;让学生猜一猜“Who am I?”,激发了学生的学习热情,自然而然引出本节课的教学内容和目标。)

Step 2. Presentation

1. (Multi-media) Show 4 riddles about 4 animals and ask the Ss to guess: What am I? Guide the Ss to answer: I’m a cat/dog/mouse/rabbit.

2. Show the pictures of 4 animals and the words, ask the Ss to match. Then ask and answer in pairs: What is it? It’s a…

3. Students listen to the sounds of different animals carefully, and guess “What is it?”. Guide the Ss to answer: It’s a cat/dog/mouse/rabbit.

4. Show a picture of a cat, then point the parts of its body and introduce: This is its nose/mouth/tail. These are its eyes/ears. Guide the Ss to guess the meaning of “its”.

Show other 3 animals and ask some students to point their parts and say: This is its….These are its….The others listen and correct their mistakes.

5. Point the rabbit and say: Its nose is small. Its mouth is small. Its tail is short. Its eyes are small. Its ears are small.【来

Introduce other 3 animals in groups of 3.

Call some groups to say in front.

6. Play the flash for “Listen and say” and ask the Ss to read and repeat.
