Lead-in

Warming up before class.

Teacher and students greet each other, then teacher plays a?short?clip?of?a?song, then students try to find the words about jobs in this song.

Lyrics snippet:

doctor, actor, lawyer or a singer

why not president, be a dreamer?

policeman, fire fighter or a post man

why not something like your old man ?

Presentation

1. Teaching Vocabulary: pupil

T: She is a student in a primary school. So she is a pupil.

(The courseware displays and emphasizes that she is a pupil.)

T: ... is a pupil. You’re all pupils.

Once again,help students understand and reinforce vocabulary and encourage them to use it.。

S:We are pupils.( Test the student's learning effect.)

2. Teaching Vocabulary: actor

Enhance function sentence “Who’s that man?” And gradually introduce another function sentence “What does he do?”

T: Who’s that man?

(The courseware displays a photo of Cheng Long.)

S: He is Cheng Long.

T: He can act. What does he do?

After the students formed the thought logic, the students can guess the meaning of the sentence “What does he do?”
