VI. Teaching procedures

Step One Pre-listening

Task One: watch the video and tell the words about the places in Jack’s town.

T: Jack is my neighbor. Today he will show us around our town and tell us different places in our hometown. Watch the video and tell me what places you can hear in the video.

设计意图:从教师的邻居带领孩子们参观小镇里的各项设施的动画视频导入,带入社区和邻居的话题,激发学生的学习兴趣,并创设情境让孩子在情境中感知关于地点的单词,活跃气氛。

Task Two: Now I will divide you into four groups , bank, library, store and hospital. Then we will have a competition. In the end, the winners will get a prize.

Play the guessing game about the words of different facilities and service and read them aloud.

设计意图:把班级根据地点分成四个小组,以竞赛的形式贯穿全课堂,符合七年级学生的心理特点,有助于调动他们的积极性,然后通过猜词游戏进一步掌握关于地点单词的读音,通过与学生生活实际相联系的图片来学习关于设施的单词,增加语言的真实感,根据并通过词语竞赛让学生熟悉地点单词的写法,并具有趣味性。

Task Three. Do 2a. Look at the pictures in 2a. Learn new words about the buildings around us, post office, bookstore, library, parking lot, supermarket, hospital, bank, railway station. Match the words in 2a with the phrases individually. Then check the answers with your partner. Answer the teacher’s questions.

T: Where can we keep money?

Ss: We can keep money in a bank.

T: Where can we park buses?

Ss: We can park buses in the parking lot.
