Enjoy a song “I can sing it well”.

Try to make more sentences by using the structure”...can,but can’t...”.

Play a game to pracrice can/can’t.

Help the students answer the question “What can you do ?”, then talk about “I can .... I can’t... ”.

Step 3 Pre-reading

Show six pictures to learn“could...”.then help the students make new sentences by using “ can...could...”

Make a summary of the use of “can/can’t;could/couldn’t”

Step 4 While-reading

Look at the pitures and ask questions to review The Present Continuous.

Guess the main idea of the passage in 1a.

Find more details in 1a to complete 1c.

Then help the students learn how to divide the passage into three parts .

5.Retell the passage in 1a according to the key words.

Step 5 Post-reading

Go on to practice can/can’t;could/couldn’t in 2

Ask the students to make up a new passage by using the three pictures on the ppt.

Help them discuss in groups of four, share their ideas. Revise their passages the first time.

Choose one of them to present their new passage.

Show and analyze one of their passage.

Show the possible version and enjoy it.

Revise their passages again.

Sum up the key points in Section C.
