Step 1 game

T: Today I’m your new English teacher. So let’s play a game “Me too” to know more about each other..

T: I can run fast. S : I can run fast.(击掌)

T:I can sing well. /I can read English loudly./ I often read quietly in the

library./ I like reading stories.(击掌)

T: Do you like stories.? Today we’ll talk about stories. First we’ll talk about Aesop’s Fables. Then we’ll read stories around us.

【设计意图:良好的开始是成功的一半,通过和学生的互动游戏,既活跃了课堂气氛,拉近与学生的距离,又复现一些副词,让他们感知本节课的重点动词加副词的结构。】

Step 2 Stories from Aesop’s Fables

1. look and say

(PPT示图龟兔赛跑/狐狸和乌鸦)T: What story is it ? From this story, what do you learn?

(PPT示图狮子和老鼠) T:What story is it ? This is a story from our English books. Now let me check if you know it very well.

2. ask and answer

T:I have some questions for you. What questions are they? (Wh-questions)

We read them in rising or falling intonation? Ss read them and answer.

T: Can you ask more wh-questions about this story?

【设计意图:通过谈论学生熟知的伊索寓言故事,复习wh-questions的语调,并通过对故事的提问,让学生运用wh-questions,真正了解其语调。】

3. think and retell

T: Let’s retell this story. Pictures and key words can help you.

In this story, we can see many words like “quietly, loudly, happily, sadly”.

They are adverbs. Can you give me more words like this ?

We use adverbs to make the actions more vividly. They describe verbs.
