This story is adapted from a European fable. A fable is a fictional story about animals ,plants, forces of nature, etc. It always has a moral lesson.

这个故事是由欧洲的一则寓言改编而来。寓言是一个关于动物、植物、自然力量等的虚构的故事。它总是含有一个道德方面的教训。

To learn new words and some useful expressions;

Learning Aims

This is a fable. Long , long ago ,there was a woodcutter. One day when he was cutting wood near a lake, he lost his axe in the water. He cried.

A good spirit dove into the lake and brought back a gold and a silver axe. He admitted to the spirit that they weren’t his axes. The spirit was happy with his honesty and gave him the other two axes.

Honesty truly is the best policy.
