own rush hours, which refer to the hours when people go to work or go back

home every day. As the capital of China, Beijing is no exception. Besides, things

are more complicated in Beijing. It will be extremely crowded during Chinese

traditional festivals because people usually drive to do some shopping, go out for

fun, or get together with their family members or friends to celebrate.

However, despite the worsening of traffic conditions and the rising of oil price,

there are still more and more people who are determined to purchase their own

cars. In this case, Beijing Municipal Government made the decision that every car

has to "rest" for one day each week. Besides, citizens in Beijing have to obtain

their permissions to buy a car in the form of lottery and it is very hard to get one.

Though several measures have been taken, the traffic jam in Beijing is still terrible.
