According to the new standard curriculum, I created a student- centered class and offered the students opportunities to participate in class to share and exchange their ideas with the group members actively, which made them experience in the situation, and at the same time, develop their sense of cooperation and competition.

VI. Teaching procedure

Step 1 Lead in and present the words of family members

1. Show a flash about Robin’s family tree.

Get the students to watch the flash and learn the words about family members. Then talk about Robin’s family members.

2. Play a game to finish Robin’s family tree. It aims to practice the words about family members.

3. Get the students to introduce Robin’s family according to Robin’s family tree.

Step 2 Come to Li Ming’s Family Tree.

1. Show the students Li Ming’s family tree. Get the students to talk about Li Ming’s family members.

2. Play the tape and ask the students to finish a short passage.

This is my ____________. We live ___ China. I _____ two grandmothers and two grandfathers.

I have ___ brothers or sisters. My parents have one ____, me! My uncle and aunt have one daughter, Li Jing. She is very ______. I _____ my family.

3. Task: If you are Li Ming, try to introduce your family.

4. Group work. Introduce Li Ming’s family. Get the students to listen carefully while others are speaking, and try to correct the mistakes.

2. Reading.
