Ⅴ.Teaching Methods & Learning Methods

According to students’ physical and mental characteristics, I’ll use direct teaching method to help them memorize the new vocabularies vividly, situational teaching method to practice the new sentence pattern and game teaching method to consolidate.

In order to implement English core competence of students, I prefer to cultivate their communicative ability and cooperative ability.

Ⅵ.Teaching Aids

To complete my teaching, I’ll use vocabulary cards, PowerPoint and multimedia as the teaching aids.

Ⅶ.Teaching Process

Step 1. Warm up

Greetings.

Free talk:

T: How are you? Ss: I’m fine.

How do you feel? I feel/I’m...

Invite students to sing the song: If you are happy and you know it.

Purpose: Begin the class with old knowledge can help students review what they’ve learned in last lesson and give students confidence to explore further.

Step 2. Lead in

Draw a big face on the blackboard.

Purpose: Build a relaxed and joyful atmosphere to learn. Students observe the face can arouse their learning enthusiasm and help them recognize the new vocabulary vividly.

Step 3. Presentation

1. While drawing the face, teacher analyzes the face step by step.

T: Look! What is it?

Ss: 脸。

T: Great! We can say “face” in English.

Ss: Face.

2. Teach the other words in the same way.

3. Show the picture of What is it.

Ask students open the book and turn to page of 38.

a) Teacher plays the video of What is it and students try to imitate.
