Learning Strategies

Students will be taught the following basic learning strategies:

To use the simple English conversation in everyday situations;

To develop the habit of listening to the tape and repeating the sentences,and get the answers from listening;

Be able to read a story with types of reading skills:scanning,fast reading,careful reading and so on.

Affect and Attitude

Students are expected to do the following:

To develop an interest in and curiosity for learning English;

To find opportunities to practice their reading skills;

To imitate and use English in daily life.

Teaching Key Points:

To understand the whole story and answer the questions.

Teaching Difficult Points:

To do a role play.

Teaching Preparation:

PPT,video,pictures and so on.

Teaching Procedures

Step1.Greeting

Greeting to all the students.

Introduce the friend Betty to the class.

【Greeting to each other and introduce the people of the story. 】

Step2.New Concept

Teacher and students guess what clothes in Betty’s closet.【Review the words we learned before.】

After guessing,teachers shows the cards of many clothes,and put them on blackboard.At the same time,teacher and students do the followings:

Divide the whole class into 7 clothes groups.

Students follow the teacher to read the words of clothes in two types:all class to read and single clothes group to read.

【Test the students with the words,and divide in groups for the role play,then read them in different types for good preparation of the story.】

Questions:guess,read and answer.

What will Betty wear today at the party?(guess/talk)

Listen to the tape,and try to get the answer.
