III. Teaching procedures

A Welcome to the unit

Step 1 . Free talk

What do you do at weekends?

Do you like to go out to do activities?

Maybe we should do more outdoor(户外的) activities.

【设计意图:活跃气氛,导入新课。】

Step 2. Learn and match.

1. Show some pictures and ask: Do you know these outdoor activities?

(Learn the new words about outdoor activities)

2. Ask students to finish Part A---Look at Part A on Page 69.Write the correct letters in the boxes..

3. Ask students to check the answers like this:

A: What outdoor activity would you like to try?

B: I want to go …

At last review the phrases again. Read these phrase “go jogging/camping/skating/swimming/cycling/ horse riding or riding.” Together.

【设计意图:借此环节呈现部分生词,完成书本练习,复习拓展户外活动词汇,操练go …结构】

Step 3. Discussion

Ask students to discuss: “What outdoor activities do you like?” in pairs and tells reasons.

Encourage students to say as many outdoor activities as they can, such as go hiking….

( Write these phrase on the white board, and read after the teacher.)

【设计意图:借口头操练来巩固和拓展户外活动词汇,从而导入Amy和Daniel的对话。】

Step 4. Listen and answer.

Explain to students : Daniel and Amy are also talking about outdoor activities. Ask students to close their books and listen to their conversation. Try to find the answer to the questions.

(1) What outdoor activity does Amy like ?

(2) What does Daniel like about camping?

【设计意图:设置问题,锻炼学生的听力。】

Step 5. Read and learn.

Ask students to open books and read their conversation with the recorder. After reading, ask them to practice in pairs like this:
