Step two: Ask students to listen to the tape, complete tasks (10’)

A. Answer the questions:

① Why is Eddie tired?

② What does Hobo do for Eddie?

③ What does Hobo think of Eddie?

B. Listen again and repeat, read the conversation together.

C. Explain some key points, give students some examples.

D. Complete a short passage according to the conversation.

E. Practise in pairs, then act out the conversation.

Step three: Lead in &. Presentation(10’)

What outdoor activities do you know?

Show some pictures, let students guess what activities they are.

Give students a model sentence of this kind of activity.

She often goes skating at weekends.

They go jogging every morning.

Would you like to go (horse) riding?

What about going cycling after school?

I want to go camping becaue I like being outside.

It’s interesting to go swimming in summer.

Step four: Practise(8’)

According to the pictures, choose the right answers.

Use “What is he/she doing? He/She is …?” to check the answers.

C. Listen to the tape about outdoor activities, answer the questions;

What outdoor activity does Amy like?

What does Daniel like about camping?

D. Pracise in pairs and make up new dialogues.

Step five: Discussion and exercises(7’)

Discussion: When you do outdoor activities, what should you pay attention to?

Translate some sentences.
