Share some fun facts about animals with Ss to arouse their interest in the topic.

Step 2: Pre-reading

1) Ask Ss to skim the pictures, the title, the introduction and find out the general and the main idea of the article on page 83.

2) Guide Ss to get a better understanding of the title – Head to head

Step 3: While-reading

1. Ask Ss to scan the article and get the key points.

2. Ask Ss to read the article again and answer comprehension questions given by the teacher.

3. Guide Ss to retell the main idea with the help of the spider gram.

4. Ask Ss to share more ideas about the topic.

5. Get Ss to know how to decide whether a statement is Fact or Opinion by giving some examples and ask Ss to finish the Exercise.

Step 4: Post-reading

1. Get Ss to have a discussion about the topic “Is it good to keep pets?” in groups.

2. Ask some of the Ss to express their own opinions.

Step 5: Summary

Summarize what we’ve learnt.

Step 6: Homework

Finish vocabulary exercise on Book A P68.

Try to find out more ideas about the topic shared by others on the Internet and get better understanding of it.
