加深学生对故宫的认识,对中国历史和文化的了解。培养学生强烈的民族自豪感,增强学生的文化自信。

教学重难点:

学生能通过阅读海报,从海报上获取有关信息。

学生能运用不同的听力技巧从视频和听力材料获取有关故宫的知识,拓展相关的背景知识,增加对故宫的了解和认识。

学生能从五个要素制定并交流出行计划。

教学过程:

Step1. Lead in

1. Revision:

As we know the Class 1 Grade 7 students come to Sunshine. Sunshine Town is not far away from the centre of Beijing. How far? So Neil, one of the exchange students is going to visit Beijing.

设计意图:通过简单的复习快速进入本课。一是开门见山,由本单元的背景知识直接导入新课;二是对于已学内容,学生有话且会说,能够避免一上课的紧张情绪。课堂一开始引出了Neil这一角色,是因为本课以给Neil制定在北京的出行计划为主线,把reading复习、speak up和integrated skills贯穿起来。

2. Free talk:

Have you ever been to Beijing? Do you know any places of interest in Beijing? Could you tell me what they are?

If we need to take Neil to visit a place, where would you like to take him? What will you take him to do? Can you give some advice? (Why not ...?/Why don't we...?/Shall we ...?/What/How about...?/I'd like to .../Let's .../Maybe we can...)

设计意图:free talk激活了学生关于首都北京的背景信息及知识储备,同时复习操练了本单元所学的提建议的重点句型。鼓励学生用多样的语言提出建议,表达观点,为接下来的pair work做好语言铺垫工作。

Step 2. Speak up

1. Listen and answer questions:

设计意图:听力5个问题的设置突出了制定出行计划时需要考虑的五大要素---where, what to do/see, where and where to meet, how far/how and how long, how to feel。让学生在制定出行计划前对这5方面有了初步感知。对于新授内容row a boat和hotel在学生回答过程中带读并释义。

3. Pair work:

Can you make a plan for a visit to another place for Neil.

设计意图:鼓励学生结合五要素两两讨论为Neil制定游览北京的计划,并能模仿B部分编对话。PPT上呈现对话框架降低了难度,使得学困生也能参与进课堂活动中来。之前在free talk中学生提出了游玩建议也为编对话积累了语言素材。学生在真实的语境中学会用多样丰富的语言句型表达想法,同时也加深了对北京著名景点的了解。

Step 3. A day at the Palace Museum

1. Lead in:

Millie also makes a plan for Neil. Where will Millie take him? Watch and guess.

设计意图:由视频引出故宫,更具有视觉冲击力。通过视频中的图片,让学生更直观地学习到本课重点短语Chinese paintings 和 works of art。
