Step 1 Lead-in

Free talk

T: Hello, boys and girls, what subjects do you have at school this term (学期)?

S1: Chinese, Math, English, Biology, Geography, Music, Art and History.

Step 2 Presentation

Show some pictures about the subjects.

Then ask: Which subject do you like best? And why?

Ss: English. Because it is interesting.

Tell students if you want to learn English well, you should listen to the teacher carefully, take notes, read more and speak more.

Ss read read more and speak more after the teacher.

Teacher ask : Anybody else? What about you?

Teach some new words and phrases.

Chinese: do well in = be good at, You should read more books to write good articles.

Read article one by one.

Tell students Chinese is our mother language, so we should do our best to learn it well.

do one’s best means try one’s best

Read after the teacher.

Maths: Teacher say: I know all of you work hard on Maths. You should be careful. Don’t be careless.

Learn work hard on , careless

Read after the teacher.
