Teaching procedures:
Step 1:Lead-in
Watch a video about weather.
Start class by asking students “What is he/she doing?” and let students answer the question together.
Write the structure of ”How is the weather today?” and “ What’s the weather like today?” questions on the board.
Show students pictures of different weathers and teach how to say them.
Give students some minutes to read the adjectives about the weather and then ask some of them to read the words loudly to the class.
Step 2: Presentation(1a)
Read the instructions.
Do a quick check to see where students would like most to visit.
After finishing the activity, ask someone to share the answer.Then check the answer.
Show different signs of weather and ask students “What do they mean?”
Step 3: Listening(1b)
Read the instructions.
Play the recording.Ask students to answer the questions.
Check the answers.
Listen again and follow it.
Step 4: Practice
Let’s have a weather forecast and see which group performs best.
Step 5: Group work
Divide students into six groups,give them some time to practice and ask some Ss to make a weather report.
Step 6: Pair work(1c)
1.Give students 3 minutes and make phone dialogues using the above words.
2.Ask a few pairs of students to act them out.
