设计意图：本课基于英语学科的核心素养进行设计，看重锻炼学生“读一说”能力，学生通过课文My Gap Year的学习，了解中国、法国、意大利、希腊、印度、日本等国家的自然风光和文化背景知识；学会向外国友人介绍我国著名的旅游胜地，同时，了解不同国家的文化差异，尊重差异，比较异同，汲取精华，提升学生文化品格。
英语教学应强调使学生形成以交际能力为核心的英语语言运用素质。本课在阅读的基础上，为孩子创造情境，以“间隔年”为背景，以小组为单位，进行旅行设计，让学生设身处地地用英语进行语言交际，发展学生沟通，合作的能力。
