Ability goals: (1) help the students to improve their listening and speaking abilities; (2) encourage the students to express their own ideas in English.

Moral goals: (1) get the students to take an active part in the class activities; (2) by learning the ideas of some outstanding people in their working fields, the students are encouraged to work hard to realize their dreams; (3) encourage them to express their views in English bravely.

Analysis of the students:

The topic of this module is life in the future which is an attractive one to the students. However, on the other hand, most of my students are not good at listening and speaking. I have used a simple video to attract the students. By setting some forms of listening activities, I can arouse the interest of the students and inspire them to be involved in my class, which can help them to improve their listening and speaking abilities. By corporation and discussion, the students can enjoy the pleasure of studying. By presenting their designs, they can build up their confidence.

Teaching important and difficult points:

Get the students to master the pronunciation of the words in the text; get the detailed information of the passage.

Teaching difficult points:

By setting some tasks, get the students to be involved in the class activities and encourage them to talk about their views about the future life and their future house.

Teaching procedures:

Step 1 Lead-in

Play a short video: The teacher plays a short video and asks the students to note down what they have seen in it.

Purpose of the design: attract the students’ interest in the topic and get them to be well prepared for the following teaching.

Step 2 Listening

Pre-listening

Read a composition which is about the future and ask the students to pay attention to the two high-lighted adjectives.

Purpose of the design: attract the students’ interest in the topic and get them to be well prepared for the following teaching.

While-listening

Listen to the passage and finish the EXs.

Purpose of the design: by listening to the passage, help the students get the needed information and improve their listening skills.
