Teaching procedures:

Step1 Lead-in

1.A video about students’life

Brainstorming. Show some pictures of people who hold different jobs and ask the students the following questions:

1). Do you know their jobs?

2). What jobs do you want to do in the future?why?

Step 2 Vocabulary learning

1. Please look at the pictures ,spell the jobs and draw a conclusion about word formation ----------- Add suffix to verbs, nouns or adjectives to form nouns.

Group work: Complete part A on page 46

That idea did not last long. Lin Qiang studied music at university, and he become a (6)__________after graduation.

Step 3 Guess the job through the explanations to the new words

________is a person who takes photos, especially as a job.

_________is a person who is in charge of a company. We usually have general manager and deputy manager.

__________is a person who performs or writes music.

__________is a person whose job is to keep and check financial accounts.

__________is a person who is in charge of or works in a library.

___________is a senior teacher who teaches in a college or university.

Step 4 A game

Goal: To guess what he/ she is.

Competitors: Group A & Group B

Rounds:1:(每组必答题) One of the students in each group will be asked to explain the words in English and the group members will have to guess what the word is. Now here are the rules for the competition:

a. The student who comes to the front must face to the class.

b. Teammates can only explain the word in English without giving him/her any hints.

c. Each team must finish a word within 15 seconds.
