Teaching Procedure

StepⅠ Warming up

Let Ss listen to a story—City mouse and Country mouse, and try to get the main idea. After that, let Ss compare the food and house between city mouse and country mouse to see their different lifestyles.

Ask Ss a question: What comes to your mind when you think of city life and country life? Get some Ss show their answers. Then show some pictures of city and country to show the differences.

StepⅡ Pre-Reading

Let Ss guess: What is the text mainly about? Then introduce the prediction strategies:①Before you read a text, look at the title, photographs and drawings.②Read the first two or three lines of the text.③Try to guess what the text is going to be about.

StepⅢ Fast Reading

Read the text quickly to check the answer,and try to find the answers to the questions:Who is she/he? What does she/he do? Where does he/she live? And try to use a sentence to conclude the answers.

Read the text again, try to get the main idea of each paragraph, and then do the match work.
