To experience and understand the emotion and attitude of the character in the text, learning the strong will and spirit of Helen Heller.

语言目标:

To notice some adjectives in the text and try to find out the synonyms an opposites of them.

学情分析

学生的学习基础薄弱,三分之一学生还停留在初中英语的学习水平。学生的英语基础知识缺失较多,运用英语思维的能力较差,语言表达能力更弱。但学生对于能带来大量信息和新鲜感的smart呈现方式会感兴趣。

重点难点

重点:To understand the whole text with the reading strategies.

难点:How to make Ss understand the text better.

教学过程

1.复习与预习:

复习:检查重点词与词组的掌握

预习:检查学习关于Helen Keller的信息搜集情况

2.创设情景:

(1)让学生体验残疾人生活,激发兴趣,切入本课主题

(2)观看视频,引出文章主人公Helen Keller

3.质疑探究

(1)Fast reading(快速阅读)

给学生三分钟时间浏览课文大意,并完成联系,将句子根据课文进行排序。

① Now that she had understood the key to language, she was eager to learn and ask more, but she was confused about “love”.

② Anne Sullivan was brought in to help Helen.

③As the water flowed over one hand, Anne spelled “w-a-t-e-r” into the other hand.

④Similarly, Helen finally understood the truth of “love”.

⑤ Anne used simple and straightforward method by starting with the word “doll”.

⑥Helen had a breakthrough with “think”, and got the complex word.

⑦By the time Helen was seven, she still couldn’t speak, read or write.
