Knowledge objectives:

1. I want to enable the students master the key vocabularies and phrases: beef , mutton ,chicken, cabbage ,special, cook , waiter ,waitress and so on.

2. To make the students understand and use the target language: What would you like? What kind of noodles would you like ? What size would you like ?

Ability objectives:

To develop the students’ abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing,

To train the students’ abilities of shorthand, communicating, thinking and summarizing.

Moral objectives:

1). We can cultivate students' interest and self-confidence in leaning English so that they can master the language in leaning and using.

2). We can help students take up a good habit of communicating in English and help them cultivate good pronunciation , intonation and language sense.

Part 3 Teaching and Learning Methods

In this class , I mainly use the following teaching methods : 1)Task-based method 2) audio- visual teaching mehod 3)communicative teaching method 4) game teaching method .

I mainly use task-based teaching method by giving the students some tasks to improve their ability of solving problems; I’ll also use audio-visual teaching method to practice their listening and speaking skills, and I’ll create a more intuitive way to make them think more and talk more. In order to give students more time and more chances to improve their oral English, I’ll use communicative teaching method in this class, the communication happens between teacher-to-students and students-to-students. What’s more , I also use game teaching method to arose students’ interest in learning English. In this class , I give students some stickers to encourage them to speak English. They are very active to take part in this class.

Learning method :

Students will use communicative method and cooperative method in this class. Students need to work and talk with their classmates to finish the tasks in this class, and communicating is also a good way to get information. Cooperating with others can help them to do things better, they also need to know the spirit of teamwork.

Part 4 Teaching Procedures

There are 5 steps in this part.

Step 1 Warming-up First of all, I greet my students as usual, and then I let them guess an animal of Kung Fu Panda , Students will guess the animal and what his favourite food is to lead in the class and I will tell them this restaurant needs a cook and some waiters so students need to finish two tasks if they want to work here .Then students will take part in the activities to learn some words and phrases.

The purpose of my designing: to attract the students’ attention, form the relaxing learning surrounding, stimulate the students’ learning interest and let them be ready for the class.

Step 2 Presentation

I divide my presentation into two parts.

Students will learn some news words by giving some colorful

pictures and they will learn the right pronunciation according to the English-Chinese dictionary from En 5.

After choosing a cook , we also need some waiters and waitresses, so students need to learn the menu, in this part, I will present some important words and phrases like specials, beef and tomato noodles, chicken and potato noodles, mutton and cabbage noodles and other food. What’s more, I will present the sentence structure “What would you like ?” What kind of noodles would you like ? “What size would you like ?”

Step 3 Practice

1)Memory Challenge

After learning some new words , I will let students to play a game with spotlight from En5 to speak out the words loudly and quickly. What's more, this part can stimulate students' interest in learning English.

2)Brainstorm

In this part, students will say more words about food in 2 minutes, who can say the most words about food ,who will be the winner at last and he will be a cook in the restaurant . And the teacher will take a photo for the cook and give the offer and a hat to the cook ! I’m sure the students will like this game very much!

3)Interesting Classification :

After students finish 1a and 2a, the teacher will guide them to distinguish which words are countable noun ,which are uncountable noun and which words are both countable and uncountable noun. Students will help pick up apples into the right basket to distinguish countable nouns and uncountable nouns. After that , let students read and remember again .
