本节课是section B 部分的第五课时，Self Check是一个任务链，通过单词，短语和句子的练习进一步巩固和运用所学目标语言，并逐步过渡到写。Self Check 1 头脑风暴本单元的活动。Self Check 2 进一步巩固本单元的重点单词和短语。Self Check训练的侧重点由“单词，短语”过渡到了“句子”上。
二、教学目标
知识与技能：
能听、说、读、写本单元的词汇和短语。
熟练运用本单元句型。
学会书写应聘广告。
学生围绕课堂任务而相互合作，通过任务发展他们的语言能力，培养团队精神。并能体会到学习英语的乐趣，积极地参加课堂学习活动，提高学习效果。
情感态度与价值观：
通过学习,培养学生的自主学习和与他人合作的精神。
教学重点：
掌握can的用法。
学会书写应聘广告。

三、学习者特征分析
通过对本单元前四个课时的学习，学生已经掌握课大量的有关日常活动的词汇，这为本节课的学习打下了一定的基础。但由于学生自己写作还不够成熟，在整体感知和掌握细节上还存在问题。再则七年级的学生感知能力较强，但注意力集中的时间较短。所以要通过设计一系列的活动和任务，增强他们的学习兴趣，调动他们参与的积极性和主动性，最终达到教学目标。
四、教学过程
Step 1 Warming-up and revision
1.Show students the important phrases of this unit in Chinese. Then invite some students to say them in English. And read them together.
2．Show students seven important phrases and ask them say their usage. Then give them two minutes to make sentences with them. Finally invite some students to read their answers.
3. Review the usage of play and phrases about talk .
Step2. Presentation
Work on Self Check 1.
Give students some minutes to add more phrases. And the students who finished first can write the answers on the blackboard.
Then check the answers together.
2. Work on Self Check 2 .
First read and review the usage of the words and phrases. Then ask them to add more correct words. Next check the answers together.
3. Work on Self Check 3 .
Invite some students to talk about themselves or others with “can” and “can’t”.
