Task teaching method.

Part4 Teaching aids:

Part5 Teaching procedures:

Step1:Warming up:

Greet the students and give students three minutes to read and recite what we have learnt in Unit1. Then present the revision goals from four aspects.

Step2:Review the key vocabularies(words and phrases in Unit1).

Task1: listen to the sound of the musical instruments and tell which kind of the musical instrument it is. Then ask students to review key words of guitar, piano, drums and violin.

Task2: Present a picture including many small pictures and ask students to look and say the verbs or verbal phrases about abilities. At the same time, students need to spell the words.

Eg: swim, dance, do kungfu, play basketball, play the guitar...

Task3: with the topic of the clubs, let students to recall different kinds of clubs.

Task4: Have a small text of 22 phrases.

In this process, students need to take out a piece of paper to write them down. Some students need to write answers on the blackboard. Then teacher check answers with the students.

Task5:Practice:

Give students limited time to let students do 8 multiple choices and tell the method.

Step3: Review sentence patterns:

Look and say. Review declarative sentences.

Eg: I can.... I want to join the...

Pair work: with the pictures and the hint of the sentence patterns to make conversations to talk about abilities.

Report: Ask students to introduce themselves and tell us what kind of clubs they want to join and their abilities.

Eg: I like.... I can.... I am good at.... I want to...

Step4: Review grammar—the modal verb can

1) Ask students to read the sentences in the grammar focus box and find the usage of can and fill in the blanks.

2) Pair work: use can to ask about others’ abilities.

At the same time let students to summary the usage of the word play

Do some exercises.

Step5: review writing:

Give students a new passage to write. Meanwhile let them to recall frequently used sentence patterns about writing a wanted ad. Then give them three minutes to finish the writing and analyze the points of this kind of writing. Finally give them a possible version.
