Step?1.Show the study objectives
Read to learn Thanksgiving and its special food.
Learn some traditional festivals in China.
To learn the new words and expressions: traditional, celebrate, holidays, in the autumn…

Teacher?shows a picture of turkey, and then asks the students if they know?the bird, and lead in the passage.
Step?3.?Presentation.
Ask students to read the passage and divide the passage into 3 parts.
First part: When is the Thanksgiving.
Second part: The history of the Thanksgiving.
Third part: How to celebrate the day.
Step?4?Practice
1).Ask students to write their questions and important points on the blackboard, the rest write on the paper.
Then who writes who explains.
2).?Look at the PPT and use important points to do some exercises.
Step 5 Pair work
Ask the students to read the passage again, and then fill in the blanks.
Retell the history of the Thanksgiving Day by using the charts.
Step 6 Play a game
Ask students to guess what the festival is in China.
