How to ask and answer someone’s job. (Ability)

Choose the correct job for self in the future. (feelings)

Teaching importance:

Master the new words in aims 1 and the sentences aims 2

Teaching difficulty:

Asking and answering about someone’s job freely.

Learning situations:

The students in Grade Seven are very lovely and interested in learning English. In this topic, they have learned some words of jobs in last year. But they should pay attention to differences between the patterns “what does she/he do? ” and “what do they do?”

Teaching procedure:

Step 1 lead in

Using a photo of my family, introduce my family’s jobs.

Step 2 Presentation (sentences and words)

What does your mother do?

She is a …

What does your father do?

He is a …

What do your parents/they do?

My father is a …and my mother is a …

By doing a game with the help of some pictures, try to guess some new words of more jobs. For example, one boy cooks like a cook, and the other boy guesses his job. If they both do well. Add one point to them.

Step 3. Practice

Ask your partner about his/her parents’ jobs, and then show your dialogs in class. (3 min’)

Report your partner and his or her parents’ jobs to the class.

Step 4 Consolidation

Kangkang asks their friends to come to his home, let’s have a look at the video. Lead into dialog 1a.

At kangkang’s home, kangkang is talking with his friends, what are they talking about? Let’s listen to 1a and choose the best answer.

We know they are talking about the Kangkang’s parents and Michael’s parents’ jobs. What do they do? Let’s look at the next video and then fill in the blanks.

Step 5 practice

Listen and choose the correct jobs for the blanks. Finish 2 and check the answers.

Step 6 Summing

Ask students to sum up some words and sentences of this lesson. Then let students read them together.
