Step 2 . Presentation and Practice

1. Introduce myself to the students.

1)I’m your new English teacher, my name is Cynthia, you can call me Cindy. Do you want to be my friend?

(通过介绍自己为下一步介绍人物做好铺垫。)

2. Introduce Helen to the students.

1) Do you know her?

2) She is Xiaohui’s new friend, Helen.

3) She is from the UK.

4) She is tall and beautiful.

5) Is she tall?

(通过学生熟悉的人物,引入本课单词beautiful, 及句子Is she tall?)

3. New words.

1)Show a photo of the mother, introduce the mother to the students.

My mother is beautiful.

Show the students some cards to understand the meaning of beautiful.(a beautiful flower, a beautiful skirt…)

Is she beautiful?

2) Show a photo of the father, introduce the father to the students.

My father is thin.
