Let students watch a video and learn model verb “can”.

Step 3 Consolidation

Let students listen to 2 in this section to strengthen the use of modal verb “can”and finish the exercises in 2, and then check the answers.

Let students listen to 1a and finish the exercises in 1b.and then check the answers.Finish 1b.

Lead students to learn the function items about ability and inability in 1a.

Step 4 Practice

1. Let students read 1a in pairs and then act it out.Finish 1a.

2. Work in pairs.Let students talk about what they can do at a birthday party .And then ask a few pairs to role play the conversations in front of the class. Finish 1c.

Step 5 Task

1. The club leaders set up six clubs.They are Sports club ,Music club ,English club ,Dancing club ,Chess club and Art club.

2. Each student fills in the form,and choose a club ,goes to the club leader and tell him/her what he/she can do so that he/she can join the club.
