Free talk: Talk about “ festivals”. 板书festival

T: Class begins, are you ready for our English class? First let’s talk about festivals. What do you think when you see the word “festival”? What do you want to say when you see the word “festival”? 多挑学生起来说,没有标准答案,牵引出孩子们的已知。

Step II. Lead-in

T: Wow, you can think of a lot of things about festivals. That’s great! From M1—M3, we know Daming is in America with his cousin Simon. Now they are talking about something. Please listen and tell me: What are they talking about?多让学生说,说听到的不一样的,因为每个人关注的不同,这样课堂会更真实些。

How many festivals are they talking about? What are they?板书Flag Day, Thanksgiving Day.

T: Excellent, you are really good at listening, you can hear so much information about the text, good for you! We are sure that they are talking about the (American festivals), what are they?

T: Yes, they are talking about Flag Day and Thanksgiving Day.板书两个节日,领读两遍。

Read and find: What’s Simon’s favourite festival? 板书“favourite”, 再稍稍解读一下 .

T: OK, I think the two festivals are all very interesting, but what’s Simon’s favourite festival? (板书“favourite”),look at this word favourite, it means like best. Which festival does Simon like best? Please open your books, turn to the page of M4U1, read the text and find: What’s Simon’s favourite festival?

板书课题Thanksgiving is my favourite festival.

T: Yes, his favourite festival is Thanksgiving, because he says: Thanksgiving is my favourite festival. 板书课题,领读几遍。

Step III. Listen and repeat the text, try to understand it. (先跟读模仿整篇文章,进行整体跟读和逐句跟读,并进行语音语调指导,在句群的停顿,强调和重读方面格外重视,长句子尤为如此。同时在听读的过程中加深对于文本的理解。)
