1. Warm up

2. Lead in.

T: The National Day has gone. Look, what do they do on National Day? (T says with students)

T: That’s lovely. What do you have on National Day? ( T shows some pictures of food).

T: What about Mid-Autumn Festival? What do you do at Mid-Autumn Festival? What do you have at Mid-Autumn Festival? (T show a picture of moon and let Ss discuss by themselves.)

3. New lesson.

T: The National Day and the Mid-Autumn Festival are Chinese festivals, today we are going to talk about some festivals. Look, they are…, they are talking about festivals too. There’s a calendar, tomorrow is June the fourteenth, what day is it tomorrow? Listen and choose…

T: Flag Day is American festival, can you tell me more about American festival?

Ss: Mother’s Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving…

T: Well, Thanksgiving is my favourite festival. Do you want to know more about Thanksgiving? Now, listen to the tape and finish these questions in four.

a. What do they do on Thanksgiving Day?

b. What do they do before dinner?

c. What do they do after dinner?

After answer the questions, write out the mind map.

T: Now, read after tape and finish in four.

4. Expansion.

T: Now, we know Flag Day and Thanksgiving, they are American festival, do you know other festivals? Now, listen and guess the festival.

T: There are many festivals, and Christmas is my favourite festival. Watch the video and finish some questions…
