Step 1 Greeting and warming-up(3 minutes)

Greet the students and show a short movie about our feelings to let students know many things can affect our feelings.

Step 2 Pre-reading. New words and phrases learning.(5 minutes)

Show some pictures to lead in the new words and phrases of the lesson. Teach the students to read them and ask them to do some exercises to check whether they can know all of them.

Step 3 While-reading. Skimming.(3 minutes)

Read the passage quickly and fill in the spider gram to get the topic sentences of each paragraph. Before doing the exercise, the teacher teach them the reading strategy of finding the topic sentences. And then, check the answers.

Step 4 While-reading. Scanning.(8 minutes)

Read the passage again. And do the exercises one paragraph by one paragraph to understand the 1a deeply. Meanwhile teach the reading strategy of finding the key sentences and some key points.

Then do 1b and check the answers.
